(CelebNMusic247) ‘Paranormal Activity 4′ Is Ready To Scare You Again!
Since 2006 ‘Paranormal Activity’ has taken over in the horror ghost genre and after last years scariest sequel of them all the Para-norm franchise is back with another silent killer.
In a recent interview with MTV, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman spoke on the newest sequel in the franchise.
Picking the perfect setting for the most scare:
Schulman said:
“If you step back and look at the house, they really need to come from the most primal place possible.”
“We try to tap into what everyone’s a little scared of. We take a step back and sort of blur our vision and use the objects that we find around us. You don’t want to see too many special effects in these movies. The more grounded the scare, the better.”
What is the advantages of moving the action back to modern-day:
“That’s an amazing technique that we really loved, just because it seems like it’s built for a horror movie.”
“When you’re video chatting with someone, you can’t see behind you, but the audience watching this can. That plays a pretty big role in the movie.”
Fans of the previous movie will remember the “fan cam,” the rotating device that set up some of the best scares in “Paranormal Activity 3.” While the directors are enthusiastic about the video chat, Joost teased another scare that “rivals the fan cam in sheer craziness.”
Moving the terror of “Paranormal Activity” from inside the house and pushing beyond those familiar boundaries:
Joost said:
“We wanted to push it outside the house a little bit, so we’ve been trying to do that.”
“I think that each of these movies has to expand a little bit. In some ways, we’ve pushed the house as far as it will go in ‘Paranormal 3.’ “
The movie stars; Katie Featherston, Kathryn Newton and Matt Shively. – directed by Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman.
This mentioned my favorite aspect of the Paranormal Activity films, in that they tap into that fear of the unknown. They have done a great job of creating a back-story for this demon, so I hope that this newest movie reveals more of its origin. I started watching these movies at the insistence of a co-worker at Dish. I was hesitant at first, but rented the first one from Blockbuster @Home. After watching it, I immediately ordered the others by mail, exchanging one in the store because I couldn’t wait. The way it’s filmed made the fear seem so much more real, and I love all of the unique ways they create the “found footage.” I am intrigued to get an outsiders perspective of the horrors in this chapter; I wonder if she will be able to discover the truth, before it’s too late.
