CelebnMusic247.com reports that Nicolas Cage is a married man again, having wed Riko Shibata last month at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
Nothing says marriage like a wedding in Las Vegas.
Nicolas Cage said in a statement:
It’s true, and we are very happy!
The couple wed February 16 in a small ceremony, a date chosen to honor the birthday of the groom’s late father, according to Cage’s statement.
Riko wore a handmade bridal kimono from Kyoto; Cage’s tux was by Tom Ford. The couple exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with readings of Walt Whitman poetry and Japanese haiku “sprinkled in.”
Cage’s ex-wife Alice Kim — with whom the actor is still on good terms — joined the couple to celebrate afterward, along with Kim and Cage’s son Kal.
Cage and Riko met in Shiga, Japan, and have been together since shortly after the dissolution of Cage’s last marriage, to Erika Koike — which lasted for four days in 2019.
Shortly before the pandemic shut down New York in March 2020, Cage and Riko were spotted on a date at Tavern on the Green, where they “didn’t talk much” but made sure to “drink lavishly,” before taking a carriage ride around Central Park, having already taken in the Museum of Natural History earlier in the week. – PageSix
