The 34-year-old “America’s Got Talent” host was reportedly the first one to file for divorce, ahead of his estranged wife on Dec. 12, according to TMZ.The 44-year-old diva made headlines just one week before Cannon’s reported filing when she showed up late to tape a segment for the Rockafeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 3.

She later took to Twitter to apologize for her tardiness.“Last night’s situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you,”

Carey wrote to her 15 million followers:

I will be opening tonight’s live show in Rockefeller center with “All I Want For Christmas Is You“!!!!”Unfortunately for Carey, her day didn’t get any better when she finally did take the stage.The songstress was unable to reach some of her infamous high notes while singing Christmas classic, “All I Want for Christmas is You,” which sparked massive criticism via social media following the rocky performance.

The terms of Cannon and Carey’s divorce are not yet known, but the pair share 3-year-old twins together, Moroccan and Monroe. They tied the knot in April 2008 and rumblings of their split began this past summer.“We have been living in separate houses for a few months,” Cannon told The Insider in August.

“(Right now) my main focus is my kids.”Carey revealed Thursday on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she she is heading to Las Vegas for a residency at Caesars Palace.Cannon will allegedly not be benifting from the profits of her latest gig, TMZ added.A rep for the starlet declined to comment on Carey’s personal life.
