As the spring of 2013 heats up so does the West Coast. It’s been a minute since CelebNMusic247.com has felt this much fire from California, and it’s about to get hotter.
There’s a new king on the coast of Cali and his name is Glass The Tramp, debuting his new album release the “Sticky Wicked Playground,” which is already being called a funk/rock/R&B classic. The album is being compared to great hip hop West Coast pioneers like NWA’s “Straight Outta Compton,” Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic,” 2pac’s “All Eye’s on Me,” Snoop Dogg’s “Doggystyle” and Game’s “Jesus Piece.” All who have defined a generation and a movement in music over the year’s just like Miguel who has currently put the West Coast back on the map with his R&B style.
With that said, Glass The Tramp is already being dubbed the title “Savior of the West Coast,” and new-found Funk/R&B/Pop king. The “Sticky Wicked Playground,” takes you on a journey of Funk with an edgy dance vibe that gives him a sound that no one else is doing. Thanks to the creative efforts of Young Trey, Glass the Tramp and Trey were able to collaborate on the project and breathe new life into the West Coast sound redefining a new generation and a new music movement that is about to populate the airwaves with highly motivated sounds, uplifting lyrical content with meaningful undertones. Following in the footsteps of Funk pioneers like George Clinton , Rick James , & Andre 3000, the Savior Of the West Coast has landed with his party anthem ” Fun Fun” to his remake of Tina Turner’s “Private Dancer,” Glass proves he’s here to change the world. He tells us:
“You better open your mind or you might go blind!”
However, Glass also reminds us of his golden rule/Motto:
“Be For Real or Be Forgotten.”
Like we said before, Glass The Tramp takes listeners on a journey with visual lyrical skill and distinctive beats with “Sticky Wicked
Playground.” The third of Three Kings redefines the West Coast as a birth place of Funk, Hip Hop and R&B. The Game is the West Coast’s current king of hip hop making up the first of the three kings. Game has truly proven himself over the years, since he rose to fame in 2005 with his breakout debut album, “The Documentary,” which landed him two Grammy nominations. Game has been the driving force for West Coast hip hop and has continued to bring it back to the forefront. Chuck Taylor is the only West Coast rap solo artist who was able to release a multi-platinum album with “The Documentary,” since gangsta rapper and West Coast hip hop pioneer Dr. Dre’s album, “2001.” Though Game’s hip hop catalog doesn’t stop there, being one of Dr. Dre’s most notable protégé, Game, born , Jayceon Taylor has also made waves with his second album “Doctor’s Advocate” in 2006 which critics claimed to be absolutely outstanding.
In 2008, he dropped LAX followed by his fourth studio album The R.E.D. Album is penchant, punchy and filled with honest verses, proving his skill set with artists like Nelly Furtado soulful “Mama Knows”, Chris Brown’s breathy hook on “Pot of Gold” and “Good Girls Go Bad” featuring Drake. While Game opens up, speaking candidly about his past label situations with the single “The City.” However, the Handsome@ssN*gga aka Game has truly outdone himself with his most recent latest release “Jesus Piece,” teaching us while The Game grows as a father. Our first of the Three Kings music gets better like a fine wine or an aged bottle of Remy. Like Glass The Tramp, Game has continued to make buzz with his music. His gritty and raspy lyrical skill giving hip hop fans the true grit of the streets. Game’s Jesus Piece album is already a hip hop classic, standing the same, kicking poignant rhymes, name dropping as much as critic Gene Shalit. He also is expressing remorse about his troubled history with Dr. Dre. The hip hop king of the West continues to land firmly his on Cali soil.
While R&B singer Miguel earns his crown as a West Coast Cali King with his innovative sound that breathes new life to the 60, s & 70′ s. He is one of the Three Kings with his throwback hairstyle and old school crooning. His sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream has shown us this guy is nothing to play with. This year the 27-year-old singer Miguel Jontel Pimentel, better known as Miguel has made headline this past year for his sexual stage show like Glass The Tramp. Miguel has been compared to the likes of Prince for his stage presences and meaningful music. The self-proclaimed freak managed to make music that appeal to just about everyone, especially with the track “Adorn” from his “Kaleidoscope Dreams” album.
It was Miguel’s debut album “All I Want Is You” that catapulted him to success after he opened for Mary J Blige. The All I Want Is You album gave fans the album titled J. Cole assisted hit “All I Want Is You.” Just when we all thought West Coast R&B music was a dying art, Miguel was able to take the musical wheel and put his own spin on the style. Miguel took n to the next level with his characteristically sleek remix of his song “How Many Drinks?” which features a guest verse from Kendrick Lamar titled, proving his worth in music like Game, Glass The Tramp and the Queen of West Coast Hip Hop, Kanary Diamonds.

Kanary Diamonds shows that she is not one to mess with, especially with her new mix tape, No Gravity which is available for download via datpiff ranking #2. You may know Kanary for her work in 2 Chainz video “I’m Different” or Nipsey Hussle’s “Sex Tape” featuring Kanary herself or her work with Kendrick Lamar and Game. Kanary is driven and constantly working and getting her grind on in the music industry, carving her name as the Queen of the West Coast. Now when you think about the West Coast and its news array of vibrant, innovative and groundbreaking artists, you will think about the ever-changing faces of Cali we like to refer to as Three Kings and a Queen. The LA basin may be large but the castle reign supreme, one Funk, one Hip Hop, one R&B with their Queen who reigns by their sides.
