We previously reported that Mobb Deep founder Prodigy filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Publishing Group last year alleging that they had been collecting fees for his solo features on other artist’s albums for nearly 20 years without permission.

Mobb Deep founder Prodigy filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Publishing Group last year alleging that they had been collecting fees for his solo features on other artist’s albums for nearly 20 years without permission. The lawsuit initially sought at least $57,000 in damages, but could potentially have risen to millions, according to Billboard. Now the case has been settled in the rapper’s favor, but with an odd stipulation.

UMPG agreed to pay Prodigy $150,000 if he made the following statement on Twitter, which can be seen at Pitchfork, but the tweets went up and then were quickly deleted:
“My dispute with UMPG was all a misunderstanding. Thankful that we resolved it quickly and happy to be continuing my long-standing relationship with UMPG.”
During an interview with Billboard, Prodigy pointed out:
“It’s good for up and coming artists to see shit like this, and I guess now that it got out it’s good for them to know what’s going on and that this is a part of the business”.
