 Lil Kim

CelebNMusic247.com thoroughly enjoyed the Vh1 Hip Hop Honors paying major respect to some of hip hops female pioneers that paved the way for artist like Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea, who were not in attendance!!!

Before the HHH kicked off with Lil Kim’s Daughter Royal Reign Making her debut at the Vh1 Hip Hop Honors red carpet. She was also seen again during Kim’s birthday speech. Royal Reign is the daughter of Kim’s ex My Papers. The two parted ways after Kim went public that she was a victim of domestic violence.

While Lil Kim sported an all-black ensemble — including a black mini dress and thigh-high velvet boots — 2-year-old Royal donned a sparkly gold jacket over a white-and-yellow dress and capris, complete with a matching headpiece and purse.

The “No Time” rapper was honored for her music and forward fashions that inspired many of today’s female MCs. Another interesting aspect was that Faith Evans was the one to introduce Lil Kim to the stage. The “Magic Stick” rapper’s relationship with Evans’ deceased husband served as the catalyst for years of fighting between the two ladies. Despite their tumultuous past — full of public bashing and hurtful insults.

Evans told the crowd at Manhattan’s Lincoln Center:

“The posters for her debut album were unforgettable. She brought sexy to hip-hop first.”

“Lil’ Kim’s debut album, Hard Core, was the beginning of a new era for freedom for female MCs. She turned sex into power and made no rules.”

She continued:

“But first and foremost, Kim was an incredible MC. Hello, she had to be!”

“Her mentor and collaborator, the Notorious B.I.G., was one of the greatest MCs ever, if not the greatest … She matched his wits and earned her respect.”

Evans joking concluded:

“She went toe to toe with him…Sometimes she went toe to toe with me, hello! What up, Kim!?”

Was that Shade?

Meanwhile, Queen Latifah weighed in on Racism Still Alive and Kicking in America!

The 46-year-old star urged black women to “demand respect” and “change the attitude” of others in order to help change the world’s outlook on race.

Latifah touches on that aspect of hailing a cab in NYC and if the cabby ignores her for a white woman hailing a cab then racism is still alive:

“I’m hoping that we can somehow manage to channel all of these emotions that we have in a positive way by not taking no [for an answer] and really do something to change our world … Racism is still alive and kicking and we have to change that … We’ve got to change this attitude and we must demand respect as women.”

The Queen went on to express at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens:

“There’s so much going on out in the world. I just really appreciate a night where we can just pause and celebrate something that’s really great.”

“All of these queens in this building, we built hip-hop. And there’s no way that I can allow us to be erased from the history or future of hip-hop so understand that this has been happening for a long time and it will continue. I ask you to listen and open your ears to some music from the females in this game. We can show you a couple of things about music.”

Salt N Peppa and Missy Elliott were also among the iconic women that were honored at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens.
