Rumor has is, Mariah Carey may be doing just that, because she was through after Nicki Minaj allegedly threatened to “shoot her.”
The talk has been swirling that Mariah is LEAVING American Idol, but there has been NO CONFIRMATION that Carey is stepping out with her Butterfly wings.
Here’s the drop:
A supposed told GossipCop “spy” for the mag claims that after Minaj’s profanity-laced outbursttoward Carey was caught on camera, the “Butterfly” singer told show executives that Minaj is “mentally unstable and a threat.”
The alleged source adds, “Mariah has no qualms about ditching the show if Nicki doesn’t chill out.”
Now here the breakdown if Mariah Carey walks out.
Idol will still have to pay her the full amount of $18 million, because Nicki threatened her life. They cannot say breach of contract because it is classified and a life threatening situation.
Next, if Mariah does leave, the Hammer will fall on Minaj and Idol has the right to sue her for being unprofessional and crossing the line.
There is no confirmation of this, but GC dispelsthis as a RUMOR since a source close to Carey says its “not true” and that the singer is even considering leaving “American Idol.”
So the Star’s reporting is out of tune.
We will see if this plays out to be false…
