(CelebNMusic247-News) Drake Announce Release Date for Nothing Was The Same
Time sure flies, since YMCMB rapper, Drake is already going to drop his Junior album Nothing Was The Same!
The Canadian boy wonder reveals that the full-length is “almost finished,” which he announced at his year’s annual Atlanta’s Birthday Bash on Saturday (June 15).
Later, Drake confirmed with Hot 107.9 that he’s in the final stages of recording. “Nothing Was The Same” is rumored to drop in August.
He continues to share that one album cut will center around the difficult time he went through dealing with the divorce of his parents. He also explains that songs like; Marvin Gaye‘s 1978 “Here, My Dear” was a primary source of inspiration for “Nothing Was The Same.”
Here is what Drake told Hot 107.9:
“This is my fucking moment to say if I wanted to rap all the time, really rap, I would, but I also love to make music. I’ll do this for you right now. But it’s for me, too. It’s my story… I’m trying to get back to that kid in the basement. To say what he has to say. And I’m trying to make it last.”
So far, Drake has given fans a taste of what is to come with ”Girls Love Beyonce,” “5 AM in Toronto,” and the album’s lead single, “Started From the Bottom,” which he says has received much scrutiny.
He adds:
“I think a lot of people wish their favorite rapper wrote it — as if a song like that should be gangster — but I was the one who wrote it, and everyone has their bottom.”
Are you looking forward to Drake’s new album like we are?
