MTV has announced they’re heading to Jay-Z’s neck of the woods!
MTV has announced that the 30th annual MTV Video Music Awards won’t be in Los Angeles, Las Vegas or Manhattan this year. Instead the awards will take place in the newly-opened Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The show is on August 25th and marks the VMAs return to New York City after four years on the west coast.
The announcement further cements Barclays as NYC’s hottest new attraction for major musical events. The VMAs are also attempting to re-ignite their popularity.
The show experienced a record drop in viewers in 2012.
