Minnesota Vikings Suspend Adrian Peterson

Heart felt apologies Are Not Enough, Minnesota Vikings Suspend Adrian Peterson after Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton disagrees with the Minnesota Vikings’ handling of the situation involving child abuse allegations.

Sorry Adrian, your apology wasn’t enough!

CelebNMusic247.com has the details of what changed up the game plan and FORCED the NFL and the Vikings to change their minds and suspend Peterson so he will NOT be playing on Sunday.

Hours after the team announced the decision to activate the 29-year-old, KHOU-TV in Houston reported that Peterson has been also reported to Child Protective Services over separate child abuse allegations involving another one of his young sons.

Shortly after  Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton disagreed with the Vikings decision, corporate sponsors pulled out like The Radisson hotel chain, who announced it is suspending its sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings because of star running back Adrian Peterson’s indictment for child abuse in Texas. Followed by Anheuser-Busch, PepsiCo, Campbell’s and more.

What FULLED the change up?

Dayton issued a statement on Tuesday, calling on the Vikings to suspend the 2012 NFL MVP “until the accusations of child abuse have been resolved by the criminal justice system.”

Here’s Dayton’s full statement, via KARE 11 in Minneapolis:

“It is an awful situation. Yes, Mr. Peterson is entitled to due process and should be “innocent until proven guilty.” However, he is a public figure; and his actions, as described, are a public embarrassment to the Vikings organization and the State of Minnesota. Whipping a child to the extent of visible wounds, as has been alleged, should not be tolerated in our state. Therefore, I believe the team should suspend Mr. Peterson, until the accusations of child abuse have been resolved by the criminal justice system.

However, I will not turn my back on the Vikings and their fans, as some have suggested. The Vikings belong to Minnesota –- and in Minnesota. This has been the team’s only home; and our citizens, including myself, have been its most dedicated fans.”

The Minnesota Vikings have reversed course on its handling of running back Adrian Peterson, placing him on the exempt/commissioner’s permission list – meaning he is suspended indefinitely from all team activities amid the running back’s child-abuse case.

Peterson was indicted last week in Montgomery County, Texas, on a count of reckless or negligent injury to a child, after he reportedly used a switch, or a tree branch, to spank his son.

After Peterson sat out Sunday’s game, the Vikings decided to reinstate him, a decision that drew sharp criticism. The Radisson hotel chain suspended its partnership with the club due to the reinstatement of Peterson.

The team’s decision will allow Peterson to “take care of his personal situation until the legal proceedings are resolved,” according to a statement from Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf.

“After giving the situation additional thought, we have decided this is the appropriate course of action for the organization and for Adrian,” the statement reads. – ABC Sports

We understand the point of view of the Mayor, and the sponsors, because what kind of message is the NFL sending out these days if they continue to slap players wrist for beating their kids. We understand discipline, but there are two counts NOT one – this was a second time. The first son of seven kids was hit in the face and had cuts on his head and a injured eye and his most recent incident he used a tree branch to whip his 4-year old. Obviously he needs anger management and parenting management. We get it.
