Michael Sam Officially the First Openly Gay NFLer
The St Louis Rams lands Michael Sam as their NFL draft pick for 2014, so he has become the first openly gay black NFL player on the league.
CelebNMusic247.com has learned that The St. Louis Rams drafted Michael Sam on Saturday, May 10, officially making him the first openly gay player in NFL history.
The 24-year-old tweeted shortly after news broke.
“Thank you to the St. Louis Rams and the whole city of St. Louis.”
“I’m using every once of this to achieve greatness!!”
Sam was the 249th pick on the final day of the NFL draft. Last February, the Missouri All-American defensive lineman came out as gay during an interview with ESPN.
