Michael Phelps Suspended From Swimming
Just after Phelps announced that he was heading to rehab for his DUI charge, Michael Phelps Suspended From Swimming Team for six months!
CelebNMusic247.com has learned via TMZ that he was suspended from USA Swimming-sanctioned competition for six months following his DUI arrest last week.
No worries, the suspension will NOT affect the Olympics!
Basically, as part of the suspension,Phelps will not compete in the 2015 FINA World Championships … which, last we checked, is not the Olympics.
Phelps will also forfeit his monthly stipend from USA Swimming, but seeing as Phelps makes around $10 million a year from endorsements … we doubt it will effect him much.
As TMZ first reported, Phelps was arrested on September 30 for driving under the influence in Baltimore. He announced over the weekend he was checking into rehab.
