Never Say Never Right Matt Damon? Matt Damon Is ‘Bourne’ Again in 2016 returning to the Jason Bourne franchise once again for another high impact action film.
We guess the most popular words in Hollywood are “never say never” since CelebNMusic247.com has got word that Matt Damon always said that he would only return to the Bourne franchise if director Paul Greegrass (The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum) also returned. Well that day has come since both Damon and Greengrass were poised to reunite on another Bourne movie. It appears that Universal has decided to put the past behind them and move forward to make money with the franchise.
Now we have confirmation straight from the horse’s mouth, as Damon himself (with a little help from Ben Affleck) has confirmed his Jason Bourne reprisal as well as a planned 2016 release date. More after the jump. The new came during and interview with E! while Damon and Affleck were promoting their reality series Project Greenlight. Ben Affleck broke the confirmation of Damon’s return to the Bourne world.
Affleck said:
“Well, [Damon’s] going to be doing a Bourne movie next fall when I’ve just completely lost any semblance of physical fitness. So…”
When asked to clarify, Damon himself reiterated Affleck’s comments:
“Yes, [we shoot] next year. It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. [Director] Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes.”
Damon has a busy schedule ahead starring in Kenneth Longergan’s drama Manchester-by-the-Sea, Ridley Scott’s sci-fi film The Martian and Alexander Payne’s social satire Downsizing. All in which will be shot before he begins filming Bourne in the fall of 2015.
