Love and Hip Hop Season 5 New Rapper Revealed

Love and Hip Hop season 5 has a new rapper about to take over the New York streets of reality TV and his name is Chi-Ali!

Thanks to Mona Scott-Young she has helped Peter Gunz rise from broke and helped to rebirth Saigon in the world of hip hop. Now CelebNMusic247.com has kept our ear to the ground and we just heard that LHHNY is possibly adding a new rapper named Chi-Ali to the reality game!

Who is Chi-Ali?

Chi-Ali, born Chi-Ali Griffith, 37 broke into hip hop back in the 90’s as a member of the progressive hip hop collective Native Tongues. Ali’s rap career came to a grinding halt when he was arrested for murder and has been behind bars for the past 12 years. Ali was arrested in 2001 for the shooting death of his girlfriend’s brother, Sean Raymond. He spent a year evading police and even appeared on an episode of America’s Most Wanted.

Back in 2012, the rapper on the run for murder admitted once his second album got permanently stalled and the fame went away, the money mattered, and he turned to selling drugs to make ends meet. Despite all the stories “Glorifying” his murder arrest was NEVER his intention.

Chi-Ali said back in 2012:

“Did I carry a gun? Yeah. Guns, drugs… that scene goes together.” But soon found out that having a gun available can mean trouble when tensions get high, as they did when the mother of his child called and asked for money on Jan. 14, 2000.

Chi-Ali asked [his babys mother’s] brother to let her borrow $20 and [the brother] allegedly insulted him. “One thing led to another, we got into it and he said to suck his whatever. Those were fighting words, and those are words that usually bring aggression.”

Well CelebNMusic247.com is hearing that Chi-Ali who has been free since he was released in 2012 will bring all types of drama to the series and at this point there is NO WORD is anyone has left the series.

Since Joe Budden and Tahiry Jose story seems to have come to an end with the proposal being a NO GO we are NOT sure if they’re coming back for another season. We hope they do, but it seems Joe’s storyline was being phased out. CelebNMusic247.com has no official word on the situation, but we will keep you posted when we hear something.

Chi dropped a single called “Good Man” last year – he’s a little old school sounding and has a rap style like LL Cool J.
