(CelebNMusic247-News) Lil Kim Reveals Why There Will be No Junior M.A.F.I.A. Reunion
The group that Lil Kim started in and was and is one of hip hop’s classics of all time is Junior Mafia. But Junior Mafia disbursed shortly after the first album launching Kim’s solo career.
The members of Junior M.A.F.I.A. met as childhood friends of The Notorious B.I.G. All the members were under the age of twenty when the group was formed. The group was composed of three separate groups and two individual artists. The group was comprised of 6 members (Lil’ Caesar, Bugsy, Capone, Chico, Nino Brown and Lil’ Kim, who was referred to as Big Momma or The Lieutenant at the time. Kim was the only female in the group, who showed the ghetto life from a woman’s point of view, while the Notorious BIG, who was killed on March 9th 1997, acted as the “godfather” to the group.
On Wednesday, Kim stopped by the “RapFix Live” set and revealed that she had come pretty close to adding some of her signature sass to Sisqo’s infamous ode to skimpy undergarments.
Kim spoke on her regrets not being able to be on Sisqo’s Thong Song when she was fighting for Red Man and Method Man being on his album. She also reveals there will be no reconciliation with Lil Cease until she feels it’s sincere. She said he’s just out there doing things all wrong so there will be NO Junior Mafia reunion because of Cease!
Until Kim gets her respect, she and Cease will remain apart – she wants nothing to do with him! Kim explains the Sisqo situation and touches on Cease below or watch above.
Kim started, before reminiscing:
“A long time ago, when I was with Puffy — ’cause Puffy managed me, but he also was basically the label.”
“Puffy was my everything — everybody know that. He did mostly everything for me. But a long time ago [record executive] Lyor [Cohen], and I love Lyor; he was always somebody I looked up to. [He] used to run Def Jam and he also came to my label Atlantic later on so that’s how we got closer.”
Kim continued:
“But before, when [Lyor] was at Def Jam, he called me to be on the Sisqo ‘Thong Song‘ and at that time I was trying to be a business woman, but I was a baby.”
“I didn’t know what I was doing, so I was listening to whoever was around me that I looked up to. Puffy was giving me all the advice in the world.”
She adds:
“So I wanted Redman and Method Man to be on Cease’s next single because he had done a record with them and I needed clearance for them and [Lyor] kept telling me ‘no.’ “
“I’m like, ‘Cease needs this right now.’ … And he was like, ‘But I want you to be on this single that I have with Sisqo coming out.’ The ‘Thong Song’ wasn’t out yet, and I was like, ‘OK, I’ll do it, [if you give me clearance’ [for Cease’s song]. He was like, ‘No.’ “
