Josh Shaw Has More to Worry About Then Suspension

Last week USC football player Josh Shaw lied about saving his drowning nephew and now USC has suspended Shaw indefinitely for his fabricated story. has learned all the details about Shaw’s fabrication that has landed him on the bench and may jeopardize his chances to play in the NFL.

Just when you think you heard it all more details to Josh’s fake story keeps building. He went from Hero to Zero in 24 hours with USC landing him a suspension. But it only gets worse because not only has heard zero points from the Trojans he has disappointed fans, peers and family. And to top the now he’s being investigated by LAPD over his injured ankles which still has police questioning who, what, where and how.

Earlier this week Southern California cornerback Josh Shaw has admitted to lying to school officials about how he sprained his ankles after he retracted his story about jumping off a balcony to save his drowning nephew.

Shaw was suspended indefinitely from all of the Trojans’ team activities after acknowledging his heroic tale was “a complete fabrication,” the school announced in a  statement through criminal defense attorney Donald Etra Wednesday.

Shaw said:

“On Saturday, August 23, 2014, I injured myself in a fall.”

“I made up a story about this fall that was untrue. I was wrong not to tell the truth. I apologize to USC for this action on my part. My USC coaches, the USC athletic department and especially Coach Sarkisian have all been supportive of me during my college career and for that, I am very grateful.” – Sporting News

As for Shaw, it’s  unclear whether he could face additional discipline from USC for lying to school officials, In addition the USC spokesman didn’t immediately return a request for clarification about the school’s student conduct policies.

Here is what TMZ is now reporting on Shaw’s situation which has launched an investigation by the LAPD over a  a “possible domestic dispute” between USC football player Josh Shaw and his girlfriend.

They believe may have happened on the night Shaw injured his ankles.  As TMZ Sports first reported, a witness called cops last Saturday night after seeing a person “shimmying” down the side of an apartment building in downtown L.A. around 10:40 PM.

Now, cops are saying the witness also reported hearing a woman screaming in the moments before the man scaled down the building.

When cops arrived to the apartment, no one answered the door — so they broke it down and found a window that had been pried open.

A woman who lives in the unit eventually returned — and told cops the description of the man seen jumping out of the window sounded a lot like her boyfriend Josh Shaw.

Cops say the woman “did not indicate she was the victim” of domestic violence.

Shaw ‘s attorney previously told TMZ Sports the football player is adamant there was NO domestic violence.

Still, cops say the investigation will continue. As for how Shaw REALLY injured himself on the night in question — he still has not said a word other than that it did NOT happen while saving his 7-year-old nephew from drowning.
