Joan Rivers Funeral One Final Goodbye ‘Can we talk?’
The amazingly talented, fabulous funnywoman Joan Rivers got a star-studded sendoff Sunday complete with a Howard Stern eulogy and bagpipers playing “New York, New York.”
Today the only thing missing was Joan Rivers weighing in on the stars attending her funeral and making wisecrack remarks on their funeral attire.
Man would that have been funny to see!
CelebNMusic247.com has the details of Joan Rivers Funeral One Final Goodbye ‘Can we talk?’
Here are the details from the funeral via PageSix.com:
The funeral program included a page with three classic Rivers’ lines printed out: “Can we talk?” ”Who are you wearing?” and “Because I’m a funny person.”
It also had an excerpt from her book, “I Hate Everyone … Starting with me,” talking about her hopes for a funeral that’s “a huge showbiz affair with lights, cameras, action” and “Hollywood all the way.”
In the quoted excerpt, Rivers said didn’t want a rabbi chatting away non-stop but instead wished for “Meryl Streep crying, in five different accents” and “a wind machine so that even in the casket my hair is blowing just like Beyonce’s.”
A who’s who of comic, stage and TV legends joined Stern at Temple Emanu-El on the Upper East Side to remember Rivers, who died Thursday at 81.
Guests included Kathy Griffin, Matthew Broderick and wife Sarah Jessica Parker, Diane Sawyer, Geraldo Rivera, Donald Trump, Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters and Kelly Osbourne.
The famous mourners lined up outside the Fifth Avenue synagogue and waited for their names to be checked against a list before entering.
