Jay and Bey Blame Solange for Poor Ticket Sales

We previously reported on Jay Z and Beyonce’s RUN Tour tickets being overpriced and many fans are heading to other festivals because the RUN tour is just too soon.

Beyonce just finished her Mrs Carter tour and Jay Z wrapped his Magna Carta tour last year and now the hip hop couple who has been rumored to be on the brink of divorce is pulling off one last tour before calling it quits.

CelebNMusic247.com is reporting on how quickly Jay and Bey are singing a new tune after reports surfaced earlier this week that the tour was heading towards EPIC FAIL.

The married hip-hop superstars will start their first co-headlining tour together on June 25 in Miami, Florida.

The couple’s personal life got some negative exposure in May when Beyonce’s sister Solange was caught on video attacking Jay Z in an elevator after a Met Gala afterparty.  Word is, Bey and Jay’s family drama with Solange may be the cause of the slow ticket sales and lack of airplay which also is a contributing factor to the lackluster sales, according to RadarOnline.

A review of Ticketmaster found tens of thousands of tickets remained available for the tour launch in Miami as well as for concerts in Atlanta on July 15 and on July 12 in New Jersey.

Basically Jay Z and Beyonce are allegedly pointing the finger at Solange, which is unfair!  To Top that, CelebNMusic247.com is hearing this twist in the reports since LiveNation has stepped up to help cover up the lack in sales and overpriced tickets. #Coverup

Sources close to the Live Nation-produced tour tell Billboard that, as of June 17, the tour has racked up about $86 million in ticket sales and is on a pace to gross close to $100 million from just 19 shows. The source says attendance is on a pace to top 850,000 tickets sold, and a Live Nation rep confirmed to Billboard last night that the tour is indeed nearing that threshold. That’s a whopping nightly take of $5.2 million, and an average attendance of nearly 45,000 per show — well more than two sold-out arena shows would generate in any given market. Numerous shows are sold out, and Live Nation cites “unprecedented” VIP and platinum ticket sales.

Two days later, Live Nation offered this statement:

“The On The Run Tour opens next Wednesday in Miami’s Sun Life Stadium to over 48,000 fans, then rolls to Cincinnati to a sellout crowd of more than 37,000 fans, and on July 1st more than 50,000 fans will pack Boston’s Gillette Stadium. With sellout nights across North America, these first three shows are indicative of the strong demand. Overall, the tour has sold well over 750,000 tickets, grossing more than $90 million, and has unprecedented VIP and Platinum ticket sales.”

Why is it that Solange and Jay’s elevator fight play a factor in poor tickets sales? Maybe it might be that the tickets are going for 44% over the cost of a normal concert ticket, which lands around $1,000.00 to get a good seat in the stadium tour. Yes, we said stadium tour, because these two are greedy when it comes to their coins.

People would have flooded to see them if they listened to their tour manager who suggested a intimate tour on a scaled down RUN tour, but the hip hop royal couple refused to do so.
