In a recent interview where Will Smith was speaking on being called the N-Word multiple times growing up in Philly, he denied the tea spill that his wife Jada Pinkett Smith was smashing August Alsina.

It was during the split that Jada Pinkett Smith was smashing singer August Alsina since it has become a hot topic these days.

The couple came together for a special Friday edition of her “Red Table Talk” show on Facebook to share their side of the controversy

According to the superstar couple they “were going through a very difficult time” and had broken up when Pinkett Smith started a romantic relationship with the 27-year-old singer.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith Clear The Air About August Alsina:

During their “Red Table Talk” chat Smith pushed his wife to be clear about what her relationship had been with Alsina.

Jada clarified by saying:

I got into an entanglement with August.

Will and Jada specifically said NOTHING about her and Alsina’s relationship.

August Alsina Spilled Tea on Jada:

It all came out in the news thanks to August Alsina speaking to Angela Yee about his romantic relationship with Pinkett Smith in 2005, who has been married to Smith since 1997.

Alsina said during the interview to Yee:

I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation. Due to the transformation from their marriage to (a) life partnership that they have spoken on several times, and not involving romanticism, he gave me his blessing.

Will and Jada Reveal They Split in 2005:

In 2005, Will and Jada had officially broke up in 2005. They said at that time “we were OVER!”

Since then, the couple has denied this, but says their marriage is not traditional and that they have a “life partnership.”

Jada’s clarifies that Will NEVER gave permission to smash his wife Jada. They were taking their own space and were NOT together during that time. She says she was very broken and in a lot of pain at that time.

She adds that Will and she were in a time of healing while being separated.

Pinkett Smith said:

The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself. I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s also not a homewrecker. Which he’s not.

Jade tells Will:

I just wanted to feel good. It had been such a long time since she felt good.

Pinkett Smith said her relationship with Alsina ended, the Smiths reconciled, and she said she has not spoken to the singer in years.

She says that August “broke all tie with her and she has not spoken to him since.”

Jada says this all seems very strange that Alsina felt compelled to speak on this now.

She has emphasized that she is very “grateful for her relationship” with Will.

Will Smith jokes that it is shocking that they are speaking and back together again.

He says:

I told you the first year we were married, that I could love you through anything.
