IRS SLAMS Game fro Writing of Medical Marijuana-1229-1

(CelebNMusic247 – News) IRS Schools Game Writing of Pot Smoking is A No-No?

When it comes to Tax write off, West Coast rapper Game is getting schooled by the IRS when it comes to writing off medical marijuana!

Although Game feels that writing off medical marijuana is totally legit, Uncle Sam thinks otherwise.

Here’s the drop:

Game was at the Nokia Theater Saturday night in L.A. when he schooled our photog about writing off medical sticky icky.

Here’s the rub … according to the IRS, “You cannot include in medical expenses amounts you pay for controlled substances (such as marijuana, laetrile, etc.). Such substances may be legalized by state law. However, they are in violation of federal law and cannot be included in medical expenses.”

In 2012 a U.S. Tax Court judge confirmed that federal law bars medical marijuana dispensaries from deducting business expenses on their tax returns.

According to the Tax law section 280E:

The dispensing of medical marijuana, while legal in California, among other states, is illegal under federal law. Congress in section 280E has set an illegality under Federal law as one trigger to preclude a taxpayer from deducting expenses incurred in a medical marijuana dispensary business. This is true even if the business is legal under State law.
