GOT star DeObia Oparei Joins Independence Day 2!?!
Director Roland Emmerich has just enlisted GOT star DeObia Oparei Joins Independence Day 2 which will also star Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Liam Hemsworth.
Game of Thrones star DeObia Oparei has left Westeros behind for the time being to join the cast of Independence Day 2. The actor, who plays Areo Hotah in the HBO fantasy drama, will star in the forthcoming sci-fi sequel, Deadline reports.
Oparei will reportedly play an Oxford-educated son of an African warlord named Dikembe in the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster. Sela Ward was recently cast as the leader of the free world in Independence Day 2.
There has also been controversy in the last fortnight over It Follows star Maika Monroe being cast as ex-president Thomas Whitmore’s daughter Patricia, a role played by Mae Whitman in the original film.
Independence Day 2 is scheduled to open June 24, 2016 to mark the 20th anniversary of Emmerich’s blockbuster.
