Ghostbusters 3 For The Ladies!?!
Ghostbusters 3 has been in the works for several years, but the production has hit road blocks with every turn until the studio decided to make Ghostbusters 3 For The Ladies!
Yup, this time around there is no Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond Stantz or Winston Zeddemore. And with the passing of Ghostbusters creator, Harold Ramis last year, the films sequel was looking grim. however, Sony announced that GB3 would continue despite Harold’s death. As for the direction, no one knew, not up until now, so this might be the best solution for the franchise.
If you’re like us, we wished that Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray would have decided to make the film years ago, but rumor has it that the men NEVER felt there was a script good enough to reprise their roles. Well no worries, because now the lead cast is ALL female, with a pretty core group of comedic women at the helm.

Here is what CelebNMusic247.com is hearing via Variety who reported earlier this week about the change up to GB3:
After years of trying to spin off one of its most popular properties, Sony looks to be getting closer to getting a “Ghostbusters” movie off the ground.
Sources tell Variety that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are in early negotiations to star in the “Ghostbusters” reboot.
Paul Feig will direct and co-write the script with Katie Dippold. Feig tweeted a photo of Wiig, McCarthy, McKinnon and Jones on Tuesday:
Story details are unknown other than this film centers on the next generation of Ghostbusters, who happen to be female.
Rumors have swirled for a while about whom Sony had met with for starring roles following the leaked Sony emails that said actresses such as McCarthy, Wiig and Emma Stone had met for roles.
At first it was RUMORED that Ivan Reitman was NOT on board without his friend Harold Ramis, but shortly after the RUMORS Reitman said that he was back and will be producing the third installment.
Scheduling still has to be worked out among the actresses, but if the deals are finalized, the studio would be its closest to rebooting the franchise in quite some time. It is also unknown what character each woman would be playing.
In addition, Ernie Hudson has apparently warmed up to the idea of an all-female “Ghostbusters” movie.
Ernie Hudson, who played Winston in the first two movies in the franchise, now seems to have a more positive outlook. In a tweet published Thursday, he wrote, “Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts… phenomenal!”
As for one of the original “Ghostbusters” star Dan Aykroyd, who co-wrote the first two films, has already given his blessing to the new project. He told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement this week, “The Aykroyd family is delighted by this inheritance of the Ghostbusters torch by these most magnificent women in comedy.”
The new “Ghostbusters” film, which will be directed by Paul Feig, is scheduled to debut July 22, 2016.
