(CelebNMusic247-News) George Lucas Building Museum In San Francisco
Although many details of the up coming Lucas Museum have yet to be revealed, the Star Wars creator promises the city by the bay their very own Lucas style experience!
Recently, George Lucas sold his production company Lucasfilm to Disney for the lifeline of the Lucas vision and for the Star Wars franchise. Prior to the sell of his production company Lucas worked with Disney as the executive producer on Red Tails.
Now, Star Wars creator George Lucas is to build a museum in San Francisco.
Here’s the drop:
In an interview with CBS This Morning, Lucas announced his plans to build a museum in San Francisco, ideally, near the Golden Gate Bridge.
Lucas went on to discuss his desire to help “a world of young people who need to be inspired.” And Lucas hopes to do that with a museum that will showcase his collection of over 1,000 pieces of artwork, which heavily features American artists such as Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth and Norman Rockwell, according to CBS.
And in an effort to teach visitors about storytelling, Lucas wants to include pieces from blockbuster animated films and pieces that help explain how the technical aspects of movies (such as sets and costumes) are made.
The Los Angeles Timespoints out that very little seems to have been finalized yet, as even the dates for the museum project haven’t been released!
The museum sounds great and we hope it all goes as planned so we can go get out Lucas experience on in the coming year.
Crossing fingers!!!
