Just when you thought the baddass Expendables franchise was coming to a close CelebNMusic247.com has the scoop since The Expendables creator Sylvestor Stallone has confirmed a spin-off starring an all female cast called The Expendabelles.
This will be the perfect collaboration for Terminator star Linda Hamilton, Kill Bills Uma Thurman and Vivica Fox, and The Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss, The Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and Charlies Angels, Lucy Lu.
But first, Sylvestor Stallone WANTS Aliens star, Sigourney Weaver in the lead role to head this band of estrogen fighters. That’s right no testosterone in this film. So get your air conditioners going because these ladies are having a heat flash.
It’s another trilogy in the works to aid these aging actresses in a high action, camp-style fight movie.
Here is what CelebNMusic247.com has heard via British entertainment website NME.com, who reveals that Stallone brainstormed the movie at a London press conference for his third “Expendables” movie. The movie stars everyone who has ever grunted a line of dialogue whilst brandishing a machine gun in the last three decades, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lungren, and Harrison Ford.
Stallone said:
“Are the ‘Expendabelles’ really part of a divorce? Say Sigourney Weaver was my wife and she inherited half the Expendables? I lost the house and my mercenaries!”
Mixed martial arts star Ronda Rousey co-stars in “Expendables 3,” and Stallone said he’d probably have to find other MMA fighters and the like to fill the ranks of “Expandabelles”:
“We can’t totally depend on actresses for ‘Expendabelles,’ because you’re gonna need a certain kind of physicality to pull this off … It needs to be something that holds it’s own and isn’t just a use of the ‘Expendables’ name.”
Stallone’s producing partner Avi Lerner confirmed that filming could begin as early as next year, according to Collider.com.
Meanwhile, Weaver recently told reporters while promoting the video game “Alien: Isolation,” to which she lent her voice, that she would be game for a fifth “Alien” movie, FoxNews.com reports.
She admits it was her fault part 5 didn’t happen and now she wants to return to the role of Ripley:
“I would love to return to the ‘Alien’ saga. It was my fault as I didn’t want to do 5 straight after 4,”
“Maybe there will be another opportunity for us all together again.”
Let’s put it this way, if Stallone and Avi get all these women to say yes then were in to see this movie. It could be top notch action if its done right. Crossing fingers on the casting.
Does this mean, Stallone can cross over as the head honcho of his female fighters and could this be a hint that a Expendables vs Expendabelles movie could be down the road?
