We guess this one had to be remade. Why, we don’t know, because Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes made this movie a classic. But hey, let’s ruin it, right Hollywood? OK, We’ll see, maybe it could be good, since Black-ish’ Creator Kenya Barris is attached!!!
Flip and get more details on the White Men Can’t Jump remake…

Since Hollywood is remaking and rebooting everything under the sun, why NOT go back to the hit film White Men Can’t Jump and remake it.
CelebNMovies247.com has just got word that the 1992 movie White Men Can’t Jump, written and directed by Ron Shelton (Bull Durham).
If you recall, White Men Can’t Jump follows Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes as two hustling street basketball players who are either trying to swindle each other out of money on the court. The movie also starred Rosie Perez. She was the standout in the movie who played a love interest to Harrelson. Perez character aspires to be on Jeopardy, studying obscure subjects like foods that start with the letter “Q” and whatnot. The 1992 film is getting a remake from Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, because it’s just time to make a sports comedy. Plus a couple of professional athletes helping to make it happen.
Kenya Barris will produce and write the script for the White Men Can’t Jump remake as part of an overall film deal that he struck with 20th Century Fox.

Who are the athletes helping to get this remake off the ground?
Los Angeles Clippers player Blake Griffin and North Carolina Panthers player Ryan Kalil will produce the film. The two athletes formed a production company called Mortal Media. The new production company is the same people behind The Rocketeer sequel with a black female pilot at the center of the story.
White Men Can’t Jump celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, so it’s perfect time to make the interracial film an all black cast. We hope the keep the basic structure to the movie, or it will lose it’s integrity and meaning. But hey, Hollywood tends to do that to remakes.
Hopefully the White Men Can’t Jump remake, has a lot of the morals and subtext that Black-ish has. The show is a diamond in a sea of meaningless sitcoms on TV. We love many sitcoms but Black-ish the All in the Family, The Cosby’s, and even the Martin of our time.
Thoughts?
