Things former New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper have gone from bad to worse since his recent charges for aggravated rape!
UPDATE: In the wake of Darren Sharper’s warrant for his arrest the former New Orleans player turned himself in.
Sharper made arrangements to surrender to Los Angeles police and did so without incident Thursday evening.
Earlier Thursday, the Orleans Parish district attorney’s office in Louisiana had said Sharper, 38, and Erik Nunez, 26, each face two counts of aggravated rape. If convicted, the two men face a possible sentence of life in prison without parole. CelebNMusic247.com has learned that the New Orleans charges are in addition to charges Sharper already faces in California. As for Nunez, he turned himseld in on Friday morning at 9am at the Orleans Parish district attorney’s office.
It was also said that Darren Sharper is being held without bail.
We reported on Darren Sharper who was charged with two counts of aggraveted rape on Valentines day. Then, Last week, the former NFL player pleaded NOT guilty to the charges. However, CelebNMusic247.com first reported in January when Sharper was arrested on suspicion of rape in Los Angeles on felony charges. According to records this is not the first time for Sharper, he has also been linked to sexual assaults back in 2013 as well.
Now CelebNMusic247.com has learned that there is a WARRANT issued for Darren’s arrest. Here is what WDSU News is saying:
New Orleans police issued an arrest warrant for former New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper on two charges of aggravated rape.
An arrest warrant was also issued for Sharper’s acquaintance, 26-year-old Erik Nunez, on charges of aggravated rapes of two women in New Orleans last September. Sharper, 38, and Nunez each face two counts of aggravated rape.
Last week, investigators learned that two women were allegedly sexually assaulted by Sharper in the same apartment the night of Sept. 23. New information uncovered also indicates that Nunez also allegedly raped both women that night at the same location.
The investigation continues and additional arrests are possible, police said.
In total, Sharper is now being investigated in eight cases in five states on accusations of sexual crimes.
