(CelebNMusic247) Tyler Perry Rescues OWN:
CNM247 has been saying this since Oprah’s OWN cam on the map…After a dismal first year, we started our campaign for Oprah to get Tyler Perry on her network.
We’ve been saying all along that Tyler is a master-mind when it comes to heading a network and Oprah needed him.
Welp, that time has finally come, because Tyler is leaving TBS, the network that gave him his first multimillion dollar deal alongside Lionsgate.
He’s making the move to OWN, since Oprah Winfrey‘s OWN Network announced on Monday that Tyler Perry would be producing television programs exclusively for OWN beginning mid-2013.
Now let’s not get this twisted, because TBS will continue to broadcast reruns of Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne,” “Meet the Browns” and “For Better or Worse” but all new programming will appear on OWN.
Tyler confirmed the merger in a message to his fans:
“…It’s true, Oprah and I have joined forces. We’ve formed a partnership for OWN and I’m super excited about it. I’ll fill you in more as we get closer to the airing of my shows.”
“I have a lot of questions for you about this, so stay close, OK? I need your help.”
This is some true black star power in the works…The empire has just begun! Congrats to both of you…
