Music legend Tom Petty has died at the age of 66. The music legend was rushed to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital on Sunday after suffering a full cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu, CA.

He had just finished his celebration tour of the 40th anniversary of his band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Petty was at home at the time of the cardiac arrest, by the time paramedics arrived he was found unconscious and wasn’t breathing.

Once he got to the hospital, his pulse shortly returned once he was placed on life support at the hospital. Though, he had no brain activity, so they pulled life support, shortly after, CBS confirmed the singer’s death hours later.
The “American Girl” singer was last heard saying at his Hollywood Bowl performance to his many fans:
“I want to thank you for 40 great years of a really great time.”
Tom’s final performance was at the Hollywood Bowl in LA on Sept. 25. He is survived by his wife, Dana York, and his two adult daughters, Adria and Kimberly, whom he shares with ex-wife Jane Benyo.
Petty is a legendary rocker who defined a time from 1976 until now. His music will live on forever. He was a great musician and artist. We are just happy that we were able to see this tour at KAABOO and BottleRock this year. Petty was unforgetable and will be missed.
