What We Learned About Life from Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal

Ryan and Jake are currently wrapping up their promo tour for their new movie Life, but we have a couple interesting facts from the road.

First we didn’t learn much at all, but that’s just what it is right.

The first thing we learned is Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal have great chemistry, they are none stop with jokes.

When it comes to the ‘Big Oner” this according to Ryan Reynolds, which Jake Gyllenhaal clarified as the long opening one-shot (tracking shot).

The interview starts off with them joking about Deadpool and then segways into Life, well what little they said about the movie. Which is actually a good thing, right?

Anyways, it started off with Reynolds being asked about the use of one-shots in film, and it quickly turned into a series of double entendres.

From “I love big-oners,” to “what about the big-Twoer.” If you caught it, they were talking about toilet humor.

There is a moment of clarity during the interview when Gyllenhaal talks about 100 people on set coming together to make one single scene in a film work. He says that shooting a one-shot can be intensive since everyone has to be ready and on their mark so the camera can move through the action and make the scene come to life.

Jake Gyllenhaal says:

“It’s really great because its all about choreography, plus everyone is tense to get it right. Everyone relies on each other, but its the closest thing to live theater,” for Gyllenhaal.

After that they went back in to laughs. It was a comical moment watching Reynolds and Gyllenhaal. The last thing Jake says is, “this is such a useless interview. It’s so great.”

He concludes the interview predicting that people would be Googling, “Is Ryan Reynolds high?”

Nah, these two just seem to be having lots of fun on the promo trail.

The next, would be that Ryan Reynolds loves to throw curve balls by reflecting on past incidents or lyrically speaking.

This time, when asked about Life, Jake casually said to Ryan, “Isn’t it ironic?” Ryan quickly jumped on board responding by saying, “Don’t you think?” What happened next? Well Popsugar interviewer added “A little too ironic.”

What do these one liners have in common?

Alanis Morissette of course!

See, Ryan and Alanis were engaged from 2004 to 2007, so the references aka lyrics came from Alanis Morissette’s song “Ironic,” from her 1995 Jagged Little Pill album.

Which goes back to Jake saying, “this is such a useless interview. It’s so great.”

Yes, but it is oh so funny. At one part of the interview Ryan said Sony is out somewhere ready to shoot blow dart at them for not staying on task. #LOL
