Ninja Turtles Gets Backlash Over 9-11 Poster
Talk about leaving a bad taste in your mouth, but Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot has sparked outrage online after putting a September 11 release date next to an exploding skyscraper.
CelebNMusic247.com just caught wind of the new artwork for the film’s Australian release was unveiled through Paramount Australia’s Twitter and Facebook feeds earlier today (July 29). Did the marketing team think it wouldn’t reach back to the US?
The poster was posted and then swiftly deleted when followers highlighted the unfortunate juxtaposition of date and imagery. We previously reported on the many styles of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles posters and the Pizza Hut ads, but this exploding building poster with the 9/11 date is wrong on many levels.
Who approved this? And what were they thinking???
