Mykki Blanco Admits He’s HIV Positive!!!
Everyone has a stigma about people with HIV, but now New York rapper Mykki Blanco Admits He’s HIV Positive hopes to shed light on the disease.
You might have heard people calling it the gift, the high-five or he own’s a house in Virginia, but that all mean the same thing that a person is HIV positive. That doesn’t mean life is over, many people live long healthy lives with HIV these days. And don’t get it twisted HIV+ is NOT AIDS. Those are two completely different things.
A person who has AIDS has T-Cells less than 200 and NEED to stay clear of crowds and sick people because their resistance is low. Once you are AIDS you can NEVER be HIV positive.
A person, like Mykki Blanco, who admits that he is HIV+ is a person who most likely is taking meds, is undetectable and has a normal to higher T-Cell count like a person who is negative. The only difference is that a HIV+ person MUST take their medication and have safe sex, you know, use a condom.
You cannot catch HIV from a person unless there is blood to blood contact. If you have sex with a HIV person, that DOES NOT mean you’re going to catch it.
Being undetectable, means that the virus is dormant in a HIV+ person and most likely will NOT infect you. Mykki Blanco was TIRED of living in the dark because he felt like he was living a lie.
CelebNMusic247.com got word that Blanco revealed that he has been HIV positive since the beginning of his career. He shared some troubling news with fans this weekend, revealing not only that he is living with HIV, but that he has been HIV-positive for a number of years.
New York-based rapper and performance artist Mykki Blanco wrote on Facebook:
“I’ve been HIV Positive since 2011, my entire career.”
“Fuck stigma and hiding in the dark, this is my real life. I’m healthy I’ve toured the world 3 times but ive been living in the dark, its time to actually be as punk as i say I am.”
Blanco remained positive when replying to fans in the comments of the post, encouraging his followers to help break the stigma around HIV.
He added:
“No more living a lie. HAPPY PRIDE.”
“The music industry ain’t gonna like i admitted this so if a curator could help me move more into the art world that would be awesome.”
Mykki isn’t letting his diagnosis stop him from making music, so expect some new material from him in the near future.

You don’t want to be that girl or guy everyone whispers about behind your back. Being honest about being HIV is the way to go. Your real friends won’t judge you – only the fake ones or the people who already have it too.
