(CelebNMusic247-News) Michael Ealy Unemployed
Michael Ealy no longer has a show, since Common Law ran for one season on the USA cable network, averaging roughly 2.1 million viewers.
The hour long drama which centered on two cops who enter into couples therapy fell flat with viewers.
USA’s Senior VP research Ted Linhart wrote on Twitter
“I can confirm to those who have asked that we are not renewing Common Law. Thanks to all the fans who watched and expressed their support.”
TVLine who first reported the news revealed that the news comes on the heels of Warren Kole’s announcement that he landed a recurring role on Fox’s midseason drama The Following from Kevin Williamson. Warren Kole played LAPD officer Wes Mitchell on Common Law opposite Michael Ealy.
While, Sarah Shahi, star of another USA property Fairly Legal, recently snagged a major part in sister network NBC’s Chicago Fire.
There has been no update on whether Greg Berlanti’s Political Animals and Fairly Legal would be returning to the USA Network. However, USA will be debuting Jeff Eastin’s new scripted drama Graceland next summer, and has several unscripted shows slated for 2013 launches.
In June, Michael Ealy spoke on the show and the chemistry between he and Warren Kole.
Ealy happily said:
“This might sound completely manufactured and phony, but we did not do anything to bolster chemistry. It was there. I read with a lot of guys for that character, and the chemistry between me and Warren, it’s just there. For the pilot, everybody was astounded that there was so much chemistry between us. Even I was when I saw it. I was like, “Wow. Yeah.””
Who knew the show wouldn’t last leaving Michael Ealy out of work.
He’s a good actor so like a cat he should land on his feet soon.
