CelebNMovies247.com has just learned that the License to Drive is getting a gender-bent reboot courtesy of producer John Davis.
He is the man behind big-screen reboots like The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Victor Frankenstein. License to Drive is one of the more hilarious movies of that era. It was also the movie that started the career of Heather Graham in 1988. She played Mercedes, the hottest girl in school that Corey Haim landed a date with.
The teen coming-of-age-comedy about a boy who fails his driving test and sneaks out of the house and borrows his grandpa’s car for a night of debauchery. The movie starts off with Les Anderson (Haim) speaking to the audience, “What can go wrong?”
Unfortunately, it become a night of disastrous proportions. The night is one domino effect after another when everything goes left. The movie it totally funny. It’s a classic like 16 Candles. In the film Haim breaks the fourth wall like Mathew Broderick in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Davis is developing a female-led reboot of License to Drive under 20th Century Fox, according to Deadline. Fox has brought on writers Alish Brophy and Scott Miles (Girl Problems) to develop the remake, which is being described as a “female version of Superbad,” Deadline reports.
