L.A. Reid spills the tea that he thought Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star Teairra Mari was going to be HUGE and beat out Rihanna, but L.A. Reid Was Wrong About Rihanna!!!

CelebNMusic247.com has the hot tea L.A. Reid is spilling on the first time he met Rihanna…

Can you believe L.A. Reid Was Wrong About Rihanna?

Like many people, we just don’t see it until that person proves them self as the breakout they were meant to be.

When it comes to Rihanna, L.A. Reid recalls the time when he was first introduced to Rihanna. At the time the Epic Records CEO said from an excerpt from the book, “Sing to Me: My Story of Making Music, Finding Magic, and Searching for Who’s Next,” a memoir by himself along with Joel Selvin:

Reid says:

“I first laid eyes on her in the hallway. I didn’t know she was a singer or anything, just a pretty girl standing outside somebody’s office.”

“Then Jay Z burst into my office.”

“You have to see this girl, so we went back to his office and he introduced me.”

While he was mesmerized over Rihanna’s eyes and singing, Reid still admits that he thought Teairra Mari would blow up quicker and larger than the Bad Gal, but he was wrong.

He continues to explain:

“After signing Rihanna, Jay Z and his team did the A&R for her first album, and I had nothing to do with it. The funny thing about Rihanna’s success was that we signed two girls at that time — Rihanna and a lovely young lady named Teairra Mari. We had an in-house company showcase and Beyoncé happened to be there with Jay Z. Teairra Mari, Rihanna, a four-girl group called Black Butterfly and Ne-Yo performed. At the label, we thought Teairra Mari would be the big star. We spent more time on her, did more work on her, paid more attention to her. Rihanna already had a hit with “Pon De Replay,” but we still thought it was the other girl.”

It makes you question how Teairra Mari ended up on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, but then at the same time it explains a lot.

Teairra should have been something, but if you watched LHHH and the interaction Mari had with Princess Love, Ray J and Hazel E, it reveals if she acts like that to her ex, and her friend then she must have been a beast to work with.

We know Rihanna is none of that and that is why she is a superstar. We still love you Tea Tea!
