Since the news of Strahan leaving, Kelly Ripa did not show up for her TV show Wednesday and sources at ABC are say this may just be the first in a string of absences.
Sources claim Kelly made the decision shortly after she was informed Strahan was bailing on her show to co-host “Good Morning America.” We broke the story Kelly was told at 10:30 AM Tuesday, just as the announcement was being blasted out to the media … and she was outraged.
We’re told Kelly feels disrespected and humiliated that she wasn’t given the courtesy of a heads-up. Our sources say she may not show for the foreseeable future.
Michael’s blindsiding exit from Live, certainly isn’t leaving out of spite. In an official statement, Michael called his time on the show “transformative” and his exit “bittersweet,” and he had absolutely nothing but nice things to say about his co-host of four years.
He wrote:
“Kelly has been an unbelievable partner, and I am so thankful to her and the entire team.”
“I am extremely grateful for the amazing support I’ve received from all of the fans.”

Unfortunately for Kelly, this is the second time she has been completely caught off guard by her co-host’s exit. When Regis Philbin left Live With Regis & Kelly in January 2011, he didn’t break the news to Kelly until 15 minutes before they went live!
