There is life after death as Joan Rivers Heading To Broadway if Henry Bushkin succeeds in bringing Carson: The Musical to the Great White Way.

CelebNMusic247.com has learned via PageSix.com that Bushkin, the lawyer who represented the “Tonight Show” host for decades, is in New York now casting, Carson: The Musical!

The musical comes from an adaption from his best-selling biography, “Johnny Carson.”

Some lucky actress will play Rivers, who was Carson’s substitute host until they had a falling out in 1986 and never spoke again.

“She comes on ‘Tonight’ as a young comedienne and does a hilarious monologue,” said “Bombastic Bushkin,” as Carson dubbed him, of the role. “It shows how good she was, how funny she was. And she’s the narrator through the whole play.”

One of Joan’s lines is, “My sex life is so bad that my G spot has been declared an historical landmark. Meanwhile, Johnny is getting so much sex, he needs WD-40 on his zipper.

Carson, who was more complicated and less pleasant than his on-screen persona, broke with Rivers because she didn’t inform him when she launched her own late night show on Fox. When she finally called Carson, he hung up on her. But Rivers wasn’t bitter.

“I created a rapprochement between them in the play. Joan and I talked about this [in real life],” Bushkin explains. “I told her, ‘This is my opportunity to make it all good between you.’ And she loved the idea. She and Johnny really did get along.”

The show will need to cast 22 actors in all. Roles include Rivers, Bushkin, Carson, Carson’s third wife Joanna, his producer Fred de Cordova and sidekick Ed McMahon — plus frequent guests Carl Sagan and Don Rickles, who should really play himself.
