Glass The Tramp Defends Lady Gaga's PopART Movement-827-1

(CelebNMusic247-News) Glass The Tramp Defends Lady Gaga‘s PopART Movement

Glass The Tramp defends Lady Gaga’s new movement and her MTV Music Video Awards performance of “Applause” dubbing it groundbreaking and innovative!

On Sunday ( Aug 25) Gaga opened the MTV Music Video Awards performing her first single “Applause” at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn.  Lady Gaga kept things simple and striped herself of her typical over the top fashion forward antics and is moving towards a more 80′s approach with her persona and performances.  Glass The Tramp says, “expect to see a lot of change with Gaga as she is evolving as an artist,” the only problem is, many of her little monsters and media personalities have sounded off in disappointment with the new look and feel.

One artist understands what Lady Gaga is trying to do and that is West Coast singer Glass The Tramp. We recently spoke to the Sticky Wicked Playground singer and his feelings towards the PopART singers new image.

Glass exclusively told us:

“I’m so sick of society saying that music should go back to a happier time like the 80′s, but when someone like Gaga is actually doing that they criticize her for it.”

Tramp, who openly discussed his frustrations on how fickle society is with music and how certain media outlets only like what the artist tells them is becoming irritating to say the least, especially when it comes to Gaga’s next stage of evolution.

If you pay close attention you can see that Gaga made a clear statement with her performance at the VMAs, only wearing black and white, like writing on paper, people only see what is told to them. Gaga was breaking many chains with her performance, but it may have been a little over the heads of some fans. She started off as a nun who took you from purity to Gaga’s Poker Face , then Paparazzi and Born this way to her current popART “Applause.”

If you are familiar with the 80′s she embraced the essence of Dale Bozzio (Missing Persons), Terry Nunn (Berlin) and David Bowie and had undertones of Depeche Mode and Madonna throughout her whole performance. Though it may have looked like a simple black and white statement Gaga was hitting fans with some Andy Warhol ish. Her inspiration is obvious, but you’d have to be a Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat fan and had possibly seen the documentary The Factory. If you now what we are talking about then you’ll understand what Lady Gaga is doing with her new album.

Glass the Tramp is one of those people who gets it and not only defends Gaga, he also Applauds her genius for pushing the envelope and making pop music exactly what it is, pop music.

Glass adds:

“When Lady Gaga puts out a fun song like ‘Applause’ fans aren’t getting the true essence of the new album….Instead they complain the song it too big and she’s too simple now.”

“The complain what happened to Gaga and her fashions, but if they’re truly are fans they would understand where she is coming from and what she is headed towards.”

“Her new movement is PopART!”

While speaking with Glass The Tramp we too agreed on Lady Gaga’s new movement of PopART and how she going back to the roots of pop music and re-birthing and era of pop culture and music that was someone innocent yet provocative, groundbreaking and innovative.

Gaga is all those things and with PopART she’s going to be a lot more.
