Baywatch: Dwayne Johnson on Zac Efron Chemistry

CelebNMovies247.com saw Baywatch and all we can say is we laughed immediately from the opening credits to the post credit scenes.

The movie is the 21 Jump Street of summer. If you saw CHIPS earlier this year with Michael Pena and Dax Shepard, then it was the perfect appetizer before the main course. Don’t get us wrong CHIPS is a great comedy. It has everything that Baywatch has except the studio support and marketing, which explains why CHIPS didn’t get the love it deserved. Hopefully more people will see CHIPS on BluRay and VOD.

Baywatch: Dwayne Johnson on Zac Efron Chemistry

Why Baywatch is such a Funny Movie:

Moving on, when it comes to The Rock and Zac Efron, the dynamic comedic duo just flowed. You could see that they were able to roll joke after joke on one another. Basically, Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) mocks Matt Brody (Efron) through the entire movie.

Here is what Dwayne Johnson had to say about Zac:

“Here’s the most fascinating thing that people have loved about the chemistry that Zac and I have — specifically that Zac and I have in Baywatch: as we tested the movie, they loved Zac, and they know inherently that he’s a really good dude. He’s literally a nice guy! And he’s been around long enough where you can tell who is nice and who’s an asshole. But they love when I give him shit! It’s like, ‘We love Zac! But we love when DJ gives him shit!’ So that’s when we went in — the High School Musical, and insulting him, and Malibu Ken…”

NOTE: Johnson revealed that a good amount of it was all improve from both himself and Efron.

Johnson added:

“A lot of it (Baywatch) was improv. A lot of it I would kind of throw out. And a lot of it Zac would throw out too, so… He knows how to take it. And he came to it like the rest of the cast: it’s movie first. Whatever is going to make the movie great.”

Watch:

If you’re heading out to the movies this weekend, Baywatch NEEDS to be at the top of the list.
