Music Mogul, Clive Davis has opened up about his bisexuality for the first time in his new memoir, admitting that he has enjoyed relationships with both men and women.Davis, 80, has been credited with kicking off the careers of divas such as Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson, has released his new memoir today, titled The Soundtrack of My Life,
in which he admits to having relationships with men.
In the memoir, Clive reveals that he is twice divorced, recalling his first encounter with a man during “the era of Studio 54”, explaining that he was “open” to his sexual advances.
Clive writes before adding their encounter was a “welcome relief.”
“On this night, after imbibing enough alcohol, I was open to responding to his sexual overtures.”
In 1985, Clive separated from his second wife after a period of “soul searching and self-analysis” and went on to have a “monogamous relationship” with an unknown male doctor in 1990. Clive also admits that he has had a relationship with a man since since 2004.
After years of keeping his bisexuality a secret, Clive eventually came out to his family but the news didn’t go down too well with his son, Mitchell, enduring “one very trying year” before they were able to work through their problems and come to an understanding.
The ‘Soundtrack of My Life’ also details Clive’s relationships with the likes of Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson and his tribulations in the music industry.
We are hearing the book is very interesting and a must read.
