Did you see the Billboard Music Awards? If yes, then you all saw Madonna Prince Tribute which started off great and then nose dived half way through and BET made sure to SHADE Madonna for it!!!

CelebNMusic247.com saw the Madonna performance and though it wasn’t the best it was more like a friend singing for her friend and expressing her love for Prince.
Madonna hit the stage singing “Nothing Compares 2 U” followed by a duet with the legendary Stevie Wonder, who is headlining BottleRock 2016, to sing “Purple Rain.”
No it was NOT over the top, it was NOT a blowout performance that felt awkward…it was just Madonna singing a couple Prince songs to remember her purple friend.
Unfortunately, fans, critics and social media has been SLAMMING Madonna for her lackluster performance. And now in traditional Madonna fashion, she is ignoring the critics.
She took to her Instagram flaunting her purple attire along with a caption that addressed the reactions toward her Billboard Music Awards Prince tribute.
Madge writes:
“Anyone who wants to do a tribute to Prince is welcome to. Whatever your age Gender or skin Color. If you loved him and he inspired you then show it!!!! I love Prince 4 ever ??????”
Even Madonna’s friend Questlove has stepped up defending Madonna’s Prince Tribute at Billboard Music Awards.
Questlove had this to say about the Madonna Prince Tribute performance in a series of tweets:
“Because of [Prince’s] well-known love for the *poof* vanishing act, a lot of us are left feeling incomplete in the act of saying goodbye.”
“For starters it’s hard to accept him no longer being here. & in the upcoming award season for ’17 there will be a gang of tributes [with] the fact that Prince — (an on the surface) face of health & invincible agelessness [succumb] to something so….friggin basic.”
“So [with] morning will come sadness & anger. 1st week I cried. 2nd week I tried to atone for his sins w gettin 8-10 hrs of sleep he didn’t get. Now anger is in the air [with] who (in our eyes) is allowed to mourn & how they are allowed to mourn.—none of us were prepared for his death.”
Of course that didn’t stop BET coming for the Madonna Prince Tribute with a competitive remark that was extremely SHADY.
BET took to Instagram with this SHADY message after the Madonna Prince Tribute:
That is when Questlove also subtly acknowledged the BET Awards’ tweet – “Yeah, we saw that. Don’t worry. We got this,” that awards show reassured Prince fans after Madonna’s tribute – by stating that paying tribute to Prince shouldn’t be a competition.
He added:
“Every Prince rendition will not be a life-changing orgasmic xperience. Just to SING his work is brave enough.”
“EVERYBODY wants and deserves a chance to say goodbye in their own way. But remember: there will be AMAs, SoulTrain, NAACP, mtv, GRAMMYS. “And a gazillion other tributes. But the point is let’s not get ugly w playing the ‘Prince would and wouldn’t approve’ game. & this isn’t *just about* the Madge/Stevie tribute btw.”
Questlove concludes:
“I’ve been gettin earfuls from in/outside the Purple Circle concerning inclu/exclusions of his estate/work/memorials/tributes who in who not.”

Maybe BET will get Shelia E, and Prince’s crew from Purple Rain to perform – That would be a great performance? We will have to wait and see. As for Madonna, she did it out of love for her friend and that is what matters. We are not going to knock her for doing something special.
