One of the most beloved Mouseketeer, Annette Funicello has died.
Growing up on the reruns of the original 1950s “Mickey Mouse Club” I am truly saddened today to just find out Annette Funicello has died.
She brought a smile to everyone’s face when she graced the big screen and stared in numerous 1960s beach films most notable was ”beach party.”
News broke today about Mrs. Funicello’s passing from the Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases Inc. who posted the breaking news on Facebook.
She was 70.
Here is a little bit about Mrs. Annette Funicello who will always be remembered in our hearts.
Funicello was just 12 when she was selected by Walt Disney himself to be one of the original Mouseketeers of the “Mickey Mouse Club,” the 1950s television variety show aimed at children. Funicello, who had a background in dance, quickly became one of the most popular Mouseketeers.
Goodbye Annette, and thank you for making me laugh and learn when I was growing up.
