But what about the odds of who will land best movie? The bets are still open, but we have our eyes on a possible shoe in.

With so many movies to watch in 2018, it could be any bodies, but there are some sure standouts coming soon. We have seen a lot of duds so far and nothing has yet to stood out to us except for these upcoming films.

The big awards will battle it out between a few films. We can see director Christopher Nolan landing a best director nomination for ‘Dunkirk’, as well as a Best Picture, Cinemaphotography, editing and sound editing. Then, there is Mary Magdalene which could land Rooney Mara a Best Actress nom. There is also Kathryn Bigelow Untitled Detroit Project that should land a Best Picture nom and get John Boyega his first Best Supporting Actor nom. The Greatest Showman, could possibly be the La La Land of 2018, also landing Hugh Jackman a nom for Best supporting actor.

The next movie would be, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ landing nominations for editing, sound editing, and makeup effects.

Another contender is ‘Call Me by Your Name‘, which could be the next Moonlight for 2018. The subject matter is similar, just this time the film takes place in the Italian countryside.

Finally, Pixar’s Coco is a sure shoe in for Best Animated film for 2018.
