Welp the Amazing Spider-Man star recently spoke on her character Gwen Stacy from the Spiderman franchise.
Emma said in a interview that she wants her character’s film arc to mirror the original comic storyline. Obviously, Emma Stone has done her homework on her character and the comic book hero.
Stone told Cameron Crowe in a feature for Interview:
“[Fans ask] about whether or not the films are going to stay true to her story.”
“Which I’m hoping they are.”
“Essentially the argument is that Spider-Man kills her by accident. So the person she loves is the person who kills her, which is the most horrifying thing. Apparently people unsubscribed to the comic book when that happened because they were just so flipped-out over it.”
“But, of course, I want to stay true to that.”
In the Amazing Spider-Man comic, Peter Parker’s girlfriend Stacy famously died in Amazing Spider-Man #121 in 1973, ten years after the debut of the wall-crawling superhero.
Although, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield said to be locked in for three films. Which means her character will need to deliver a trilogy for the Marvel Comics franchise.
Maybe Gwen can die in the third in the beginning and Spidey can find a new love interest, so movie goers won’t be saddened. Stone is rumored to be in Cameron Crowe’s upcoming project, Deep Tiki.
