CelebnMusic247.com reports that the Coming 2 America star has plans to get back to his roots now that Coming 2 America is currently streaming on Amazon.
Eddie Murphy revealed on Kevin Hart’s SiriusXM’s podcast “Comedy Gold Minds:”
My plan was to do [his 2019 movie ‘Dolemite Is My Name’], ‘Saturday Night Live,’ [upcoming flick] “Coming 2 America” and then do stand-up. And then the pandemic hit, and it shut the whole s–t down.
If you recall, Murphy hosted “SNL” in December of last year.
When the pandemic is over and it’s safe for everybody to go out and do it, then the plan is to do it.
Let’s not forget that Netflix streaming service is ready to give Eddie Murphy the comedy mic for a whopping $70 million.
Murphy transformed stand-up comedy in the 1980s with his legendary specials “Delirious” and “Raw,” but quit in 1987 when his Hollywood career took off.
Following his stand-up career, Murphy became box office gold with “Trading Places” which he tributes in “Coming 2 America.” He is best know for his Beverly Hills Cop franchise in which it has been reported he is doing a fourth one. He has also been reported to star in the Grumpy Old Men remake.
