(CelebNMusic247-News) Drake Postpones Tour Due To Low Ticket Sales
Why low ticket sale? Because Drake is charging WAY TOO MUCH for his North American tour with OVER-PRICED tickets to up his concert monies.
Sources tell the New York Post that Drake is pushing back the start of his North American tour to October 18 because of soft ticket sales.
The “Would You Like a Tour” was announced back in June and was supposed to start in the middle of this month. Now let us be the first to call it out and say what everyone else is NOT! We were ready to go to Drake’s show, but when we looked at the ticket prices being $450.00 a ticket we laughed and said “HELL NO!”
Let us be real with this, concert tickets are WAY OUT OF CONTROL and NO artist is worth $450.00 a ticket! NOT Madonna, NOT Britney, NOT Jay Z, NOT Beyonce and definetly NOT Drake who is still a newbie when it comes to music. Drake is only 3 albums deep and does NOT have the catalog of music like Madonna, Britney, Prince or Jay Z.
Prince SOLD OUT every night of the Forum in Los Angeles to help the Forum and to show his appreciation to the fans, selling tickets for only $25.00. The days of the true fan being able to see their favorite artist have been taken away by artists and Live Nation being too greedy.
Yes it cost money to tour, yes there is insurance cost and yes artists make all their money from live performances, but $450.00 is TOO MUCH!
If you want nose bleed tickets then you have to be willing to pay $100.00 to see Drake appear like an Ant on stage. Is that fair? The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Robin Thicke, One Direction and the list goes on of artist who have realistic pricing for their tour.
Remember Pharell back in the day whose tour cost $500.00 a ticket and the tourb FLOPPED? Well Drake is about to embark on an EPIC FAIL with this tour, because he does NOT have enough music, been out long enough, or has a stage or show like Madonna. Will Drake be doing 5 to 6 changes? Will he bring out cars, do scenes, and act out his music like the iconic R. Kelly?
Most likely NOT, and bringing out other artists on his tour is NOT a box office draw. When you charge astronomical prices to fans during the holidays when people are buying gifts for their family. Drake’s camp have lost their mind with the ticket prices and should restructure the pricing so he can sell tickets.
Word is, acts like Jay Z and Kanye are tying up concert goer dollars by over charging for tickets. Greed is an UGLY BEAST!
Here is what the Post reports [via Madamenoire]:
The “Would You Like a Tour” was announced back in June and was supposed to start in the middle of this month. Drake will be on the road with the rapper Future and leg-dropping crooner Miguel. But the month-long delay was announced on Friday “due to an intense rehearsal schedule and technical production requirements that will be part of the show,” said a statement.
Not true, says the Post, which writes that competition with other acts like Jay Z and Kanye is tying up concert goer dollars.
The Post also points out a host of other issues that contributed to the delay. The release date for Drake’s new album “Nothing Was The Same” was changed to this Tuesday from last week. Page Six says the change caused a “whole spiral of things” that impacted the tour. And Drizzy wants fans to hear the music in the weeks leading up to the tour. Drake’s people maintain that the tour is “nearly sold out in every major market.”
Every time a song leaks from the new album, it’s trending on Twitter, so there’s definitely buzz. But what causes a buzz and what actually turns into sales are two different things. On the face of it though, it seems like Drizzy’s fans wouldn’t miss the chance to come out and sing along with him in concert, no matter the cost. #Yolo right?
