Disney‘s Pete’s Dragon Getting Remake
Disney is at it again as it has been announced that Pete’s Dragon will be getting a reboot with director David Lowery at the healm!
CelebNMusic247.com has learned that the Ain’t Them Bodies Saints director was hired last year as a co-writer on the film, but this time Pete’s Dragon is NOT going to be a musical.
The 1977 animation-live action hybrid film that starred late Shelly Winters and Mickey Rooney who passed away over the weeked via The Wrap.
It is unclear whether Lowery will tackle the project before or after his adaptation of Kevin Powers novel The Yellow Birds.
The director previously worked with a young cast on 2009’s St Nick, which centred around a group of runaway children surviving in the wild.
Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck starred in Lowery’s award-winning 2013 indie drama Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.
