When Richard Sherman called himself the best cornerback in the game during his post-game rant after the NFC Championship game, he was taking a shot at more than just Michael Crabtree. Predating the Sherman-Crabtree feud we saw boil over on Sunday, Sherman has been jawing at Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis dating back to the latter’s days with the New York Jets.
The main gripe that Revis has had with Sherman is that he doesn’t think the Seahawks corner is the best defender in the NFL. Naturally, Revis still believes he’s the best cornerback in the league and told Sherman to stop mooching off his name back when Sherman was throwing stones.
Revis is still taking exception to this and has told the Tampa Bay Times thatSherman’s post-game rant out of line.
Revis said Wednesday in Hawaii:
“I didn’t think that was good on his part.”
“If you listen to what the reporter asked him, it was nothing about him, it was about the team, and he put himself ahead of the team.”
