(CelebNMusic247) Damon Dash Countersuing Curren$y
Earlier this year Curren$y filed a lawsuit against Damon Dash for releasing his music without permission.
In March it was reported that Curren$y was seeking more than $1 million in damages from Damon Dash after Dame released music by Curren$y despite the fact they never solidified a deal.
Word is, Curren$y Dame approached him with a deal in 2010 but they couldn’t agree on the terms, but Dame released two Curren$y albums that same year despite not having a deal. In 2011 Curren$y eventually signed with Warner Bros.
Later, Dame fired back saying the lawsuit frivolous but now he’s suing his former attorney for botching the Curren$y deal.
Here is whats happening now:
Dame filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against his former attorney for failing to complete the paperwork on an oral contract with Curren$y that would have locked the rapper into a deal with Damon’s BluRoc Records.
Damon claims losing Curren$y also cost him his distribution deal with Island/Def Jam and the loss of another artist called Stalley.
Dame is seeking $5 million in damages plus lawyer fees and court costs.
That is 5 times the amounth that Curre$y was initially asking…What a mess!
