Browns Already Dump Vince Young
Talk about a short lived stint with the Cleveland Browns? Former Longhorn QB Vince Young has just got his walking papers from the NFL.
CelebNMusic247.com has learned via CSB that Vince Young’s NFL comeback has hit yet another bump in the road as the Cleveland Browns released him Tuesday morning. Young was one of five players the Browns cut Tuesday, including another former Longhorn Fozzy Whittaker.
A former pro bowler and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Young signed with the Browns less than two weeks ago. Cleveland’s quarterback depth chart expanded quickly over the next week with the selection of Johnny Manziel in the NFL draft and the signing of South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw as an undrafted free agent.
These two signings led to the Browns thinning their roster, which included the dismissal of Young and fellow quarterback Alex Tanney. Tyler Thigpen, who signed on the same day as Young, remains on Cleveland’s roster.
Young has not played in a regular season NFL game since 2011 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He last appeared on an NFL roster with Green Bay in 2013, but was cut before the season began. Whitaker played 11 games with the Browns last year, totaling 79 yards.
Here is how the Cleveland Brown’s put it, bluntly:
The Browns have released DB Brandon Hughes, DL Brian Sanford, QB Alex Tanney, RB Fozzy Whitaker and QB Vince Young.

Well in the tradition of losing a job, it sounds like Vince heard the old saying, “you are great, but we’ve decided to go in another direction….No it’s NOT you, it’s the organization…good luck and we believe in you.”
Good luck with another team Vince, we know you’ll land on your feet soon. Well hopefully soon.
