PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — RichPlaceMediaGroupLLC has announced the release of THE CLEANER, the Veinrend Book One vampire thriller by author Emilio Ricci. The Kindle edition is available now on Amazon (Amazon link — to be added) and is included with Kindle Unlimited at no additional cost to subscribers. A paperback edition will follow.
He Kills the Ones Nobody Misses
Los Angeles, Halloween 1986. Enzo Moretti is the man the city’s underworld calls when something needs to disappear — a cleaner: meticulous, professional, and invisible. He is also a vampire, and he has survived a very long life by keeping one rule without exception: he kills the ones nobody misses. In the Los Angeles of 1986 — all neon, asphalt, and reinvention — Enzo has turned appetite into a trade, taking only the prey no one will ever come looking for, and leaving no trace behind him. But a rule only holds until the night it is tested, and Halloween is the one night of the year when the entire city wears a mask.
THE CLEANER opens Veinrend, a series planned at five books, chronicling Enzo Moretti’s Los Angeles across the years ahead. Book One arrives just in time for Halloween, the night its story is set — a homecoming of sorts for a city that has always understood reinvention, reinvention’s price, and the things that have to disappear so that both can happen.
“Enzo isn’t a monster lurking in the shadows — he’s a working man with a route, a reputation, and a code,” said Emilio Ricci. “I wanted to write the vampire as a tradesman of the night, someone who punches a clock in the dark. And 1986 Los Angeles gave me the perfect city for him: beautiful, ruthless, and quietly built on people disappearing. He kills the ones nobody misses. The series is about what happens the night he finally meets someone who would be.”
THE CLEANER is Ricci’s second book launch, following THE BREAKING DARK, Book One of The Covenant of Five, out now on Amazon. The Veinrend series marks a turn from epic fantasy to noir: where The Covenant of Five spans covens and centuries, Veinrend stays on the ground in one city, in one trade, with one man’s rule — and everything that rule costs him.
